Falling for Fall
Sorry, folks. We know it’s been a long time since the last post, but it’s just hard to find the time these days to take pictures, not to mention post them on the web. Here are a couple goodies from the past couple months.
Great Aunts Jan and Barb came to visit in August. We celebrated with a visit to the Dallas World Aquarium via the DART train. Jan was the lucky one who got to entertain Seth on the way there!

We’re big fans of the short buzz cut for little boys–so much less work–but here is an attempt at giving Seth daddy’s hairdo.

Mommy’s a sucker for the holidays. Here is Seth getting in the spirit with his mummy shirt.

Thanks Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John for the personalized glow-in-the-dark shirt!

Seth wanted nothing to do with carving pumpkins. Of course, Daddy was gagging through the whole thing too!

When you always want to sing “Bringing Home My Baby Bumble Bee,” this costume only makes sense. He liked trick-or-treating this year!

Reading is still one of Seth’s favorite things. Here’s story time last night with Daddy!

Well, that’s all we’ve got for now. Hope you’re all doing well. For those of you who haven’t heard, we are expecting Weadock Wee One #2 in May! Wish me luck on getting through these sick times and on ever getting pictures posted again:)

Terrible Twos, Here We Come!
The big birthday weekend has come and gone, though we’re still sorting through clothes and toys. Thank you to everyone who came for the weekend, the party or sent fun gifts. Here are the highlights!
Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John surprised Seth w/ a balloon bouquet on his actual birthday.

Okay, this one really has nothing to do w/ Seth’s birthday, but it’s too cool to leave out. We toured the new Cowboys stadium and this is a shot of the 7.5 story jumbotron!

Uncle Andy and Seth building something w/ Seth’s new tool bench. Hey Andy, maybe you can hire Seth to help you add a 2nd story to your house!

Seth w/ Dodo and Papa just before party time.

The Wielands w/ their new addition.

Seth loves destroying sand castles in his new sandbox from Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John.

Time for presents! He’s gotten much better at tearing through the paper.

Up until the actual day of the party, he swore all he wanted was “CAKE!”

Maggie returned from a month-long vacation w/ Papa Earl. Seth was so happy to have his buddy back, he shared his crushed ice with her.

We visited the doctor today for Seth’s 2-year check-up and he’s doing well. Physically, he’s above average height with about an average weight (hmm, who does that sound like?) and he’s above average developmentally. We couldn’t be more proud. Thank you for taking the time to check the blog. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know who’s out there! We love you!

Summer Fun and a New Cousin to Boot!
Okay, I know I promised to be better about updating the blog, but I hope you can see from the pictures that we’ve just been too busy having fun!
Another try at the 4 generation picture at Aunt Nat’s baby shower.

Crazy Great Aunt Susie!

Our living rug (aka Maggie) continues to grow.

This is the way to get some peace and quiet around the house!

Seth, Dodo and Mom at the Kingsland 4th of July parade.

It’s a holiday, so we blew it out w/ sugar!

Quite the ladies’ man! Seth w/ Loren and Emma Pelky.

The sweaty family awaiting the fireworks. Seth thinks “crackers” are awesome!

Not even 2 years old, and he loves the tube!

Dodo’s jacuzzi tub makes baby shampoo turn into crazy bubbles!

The famous last supper (just before heading to the hospital for induction).

Nat and Seth’s new cousin Ryan.

Dodo and baby Ryan.

Seth helping announce Ryan’s arrival to the Wieland’s neighbors.

Mommy’s last visit w/ Aunt Nat and Ryan.

Stay tuned for pics from our Florida vacation and Seth’s 2nd birthday party!

The Wheels on the Bus Go Rolling Off…
I guess we just had it too good and needed a reminder of how hard life can be. I’m not talking about the recession. No, our woes come from the new four-legged addition to our house named Maggie. We’ll get her settled in eventually. In the mean time, here are some pics from late winter and early spring.
Seth “helping” Daddy in the garage.

Seth and Grandma Dodo on Valentine’s Day.

Seth masters the potty. We’re working on getting the pants off.

Still nothing sweeter than a sleeping boy.

Here is Seth waiting at the airport before his first trip on a plane. We made a nice weekend trip out to Cruces in February to see Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John.

Here is Seth in Cruces w/ the grandparents.

Love those baby blues!

We spent some time in Kingsland for Spring Break. Here Seth coaxes pregnant Aunt Nat out of her beloved cereal!

Papa Earl, get off the phone and listen to a story!

Time to plant the petunias!

Seth showed his competitive side at the neighborhood Easter egg hunt!

Good old Blue or the new bunny? Blue always wins out!

Seth starting a sugar high on Easter morning.

We stayed a little late for an Easter boat ride. Seth has a new life jacket!

Between Seth and Daddy, I don’t know who begs for a boat more!

The little guy continues to amaze us with all that he says and does! Sorry for the delay in the pictures. I will try to keep up with the blog a little better! Love you all!

Happy (Late) Halloween!
Sorry for the delay. In addition to the holiday festivities, we (with the help of the Pickerings) have been doing some remodeling in the house. Unfortunately, Papa Earl “doesn’t do painting,” so we’ve been up to our elbows in it since they left. Anyway, let’s get to the cuteness.
Knowing that no mom would send their kid to daycare in costume, Noel made each of the kids personalized shirts to wear. Here is Seth showing his off before heading to daycare on Halloween morning.

Seth helps Papa Earl take a break from construction. How many times did he make you read that tractor book, Papa?

Finally it’s time for trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, a fluffy, padded St. Bernard puppy outfit is not very forgiving in the Texas heat. We only made it to 4 houses!

The only house that Seth would walk of his own free will to was our own, where Papa Earl answered the door to his favorite trick-or-treater. Here is Seth post-costume begging Grandma Dodo for some of her ice. He spent the rest of the evening helping mom answer the door in his T-shirt and diaper.

What can we say? Being a bookworm runs in our family!

Team Highlanders showing off their new team shirts. Did I mention that they are an original Weadock design?

We bought Seth a kid’s table this weekend and his current favorite pastime is climbing into the chair and applauding himself. I swear every toy he owns is more fun when he’s sitting at the table.

That’s it for now. Thanks for taking the time to look at the pictures. Please leave us comments!

Fall Time Fun!
The temperatures may be dropping (finally), but things are really picking up for Seth around our house. After a week long bout with a stomach bug, we decided we needed to celebrate a healthy kid with a trip to the pumpkin patch this weekend. Here are a few highlights from that visit, along with a couple other cute shots.
We put away the high chair tray so that Seth could join us at the table. Now we just need to teach him that putting his feet on the table is not good manners!

While he awaits a purchase of a family dog–are we really up for that one–Seth occupies a lot of his time at home “petting” Molly.

The pumpkins weren’t much of a hit at the pumpkin patch, but Seth got a kick out of the petting zoo. Here is Seth feeding a goat. What you don’t see in the picture is Seth feeding himself the goat feed instead of the goat.

No pumpkin patch trip is complete without a hay ride.

Not sure who’s doing the eating in this picture.

He used to be a total ham for the camera, but now it’s hard to get a shot with a smile. Here’s our “happy” picture amidst all the pretty pumpkins.

We were told this farm still had pumpkins on the vines, but these vines had long seen better days. Seth really wasn’t interested in the pumpkins scattered about, though. He just enjoyed walking around in the dirt.

What is it about boys and tractors?

The toy store in any room? Any drawer that is at Seth’s height.

Our next post will probably include Halloween pictures, so stay tuned! Please leave comments!

Happy Birthday, Little Buddy!
Seth’s 1st birthday weekend celebration was a blast! It’s hard to believe the little guy has been in our lives for a year already, but I can’t imagine how we ever got by without him.
For some reason, other people’s beds are so much fun to roll around in. At least in this photo he has clothes on–you might want to wash those sheets, Grandma Dodo!

No trip to Kingsland is complete without a boat ride. Seth may have somewhat mastered walking on land, but his sea legs still have lots of room for improvement!

Hopefully he’ll get the hang of this before Christmas rolls around!

Instead of the old paper cone hat, we opted for a more humiliating felt cake hat. You had to be quick to get a picture of it on his head–good job, Aunt Nat!

After seeing the tradition at several other 1st birthday parties, Daddy decided to bake Seth a special smash cake. It took the little guy a while to dig in, but soon icing was flying!

He’s all smiles after eating the most sugar he’s ever had in his life!

On our last night in Kingsland, we ate dinner at Chili’s in Marble Falls. We braved the heat on the patio to enjoy the beautiful lake view, but the real sight was Seth eating pizza for the first time.

Mom and Dad’s big birthday gift for our little monster was a red wagon. We tried it out last week when temps. dropped into the 90s (bearable). Seth loves having a 360-degree view of the neighborhood and feeling like a big boy!

Thank you to everyone who brought/sent gifts and for all of your love and support through our first year of parenthood!

Mr. Independent
We have returned from our trip to the Pickering “Ranch” and are resting up from all the excitement. Here are some photo highlights from the holiday.
Seth was proud of himself when he got to belly up to the bar with everyone else in the family. Unlike everyone else, though, he only drank some apple juice!

His new 4th of July outfit said it all regarding the little man’s current attitude. The shirt read “Mr. Independent” and the shorts read “Super Star” on the butt. Here is Seth in his new outfit. He’s angry because Daddy is stifling that independence.

He’s been a little fish for a while now, but this was his first swim in the lake.

Over the weekend Seth became quite at home on Papa and Grandma’s boat, aka Dodo’s Dinghy.

Daddy and Seth watch the water for any signs of fish.

It’s hard to believe that Seth will be one year old in just a few weeks!
We love you all!

Spring Break Pictures
Sorry it’s been so long since we have posted new pictures. March has been a busy month in which Seth has done a lot of growing up. Enjoy the pictures!
JR pirate training to be actual pirate (See Seth the first time he wore his life jacket!)

The Pickerings’ new boat makes babies sleepy.

Breakfast time at Grandma’s upstairs sauna…err house…

“Papa, I told you I didn’t want to eat that pickle…”

The Easter bunny sure did poop some good eggs!
