Falling for Fall
Sorry, folks. We know it’s been a long time since the last post, but it’s just hard to find the time these days to take pictures, not to mention post them on the web. Here are a couple goodies from the past couple months.
Great Aunts Jan and Barb came to visit in August. We celebrated with a visit to the Dallas World Aquarium via the DART train. Jan was the lucky one who got to entertain Seth on the way there!

We’re big fans of the short buzz cut for little boys–so much less work–but here is an attempt at giving Seth daddy’s hairdo.

Mommy’s a sucker for the holidays. Here is Seth getting in the spirit with his mummy shirt.

Thanks Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John for the personalized glow-in-the-dark shirt!

Seth wanted nothing to do with carving pumpkins. Of course, Daddy was gagging through the whole thing too!

When you always want to sing “Bringing Home My Baby Bumble Bee,” this costume only makes sense. He liked trick-or-treating this year!

Reading is still one of Seth’s favorite things. Here’s story time last night with Daddy!

Well, that’s all we’ve got for now. Hope you’re all doing well. For those of you who haven’t heard, we are expecting Weadock Wee One #2 in May! Wish me luck on getting through these sick times and on ever getting pictures posted again:)

Terrible Twos, Here We Come!
The big birthday weekend has come and gone, though we’re still sorting through clothes and toys. Thank you to everyone who came for the weekend, the party or sent fun gifts. Here are the highlights!
Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John surprised Seth w/ a balloon bouquet on his actual birthday.

Okay, this one really has nothing to do w/ Seth’s birthday, but it’s too cool to leave out. We toured the new Cowboys stadium and this is a shot of the 7.5 story jumbotron!

Uncle Andy and Seth building something w/ Seth’s new tool bench. Hey Andy, maybe you can hire Seth to help you add a 2nd story to your house!

Seth w/ Dodo and Papa just before party time.

The Wielands w/ their new addition.

Seth loves destroying sand castles in his new sandbox from Grandma Peggy and Grandpa John.

Time for presents! He’s gotten much better at tearing through the paper.

Up until the actual day of the party, he swore all he wanted was “CAKE!”

Maggie returned from a month-long vacation w/ Papa Earl. Seth was so happy to have his buddy back, he shared his crushed ice with her.

We visited the doctor today for Seth’s 2-year check-up and he’s doing well. Physically, he’s above average height with about an average weight (hmm, who does that sound like?) and he’s above average developmentally. We couldn’t be more proud. Thank you for taking the time to check the blog. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know who’s out there! We love you!

Holiday Madness
Sorry for the long delay in getting some updates to you guys. Life has been nothing but madness since mid-November. Enjoy the pics!

Happy (Late) Halloween!
Sorry for the delay. In addition to the holiday festivities, we (with the help of the Pickerings) have been doing some remodeling in the house. Unfortunately, Papa Earl “doesn’t do painting,” so we’ve been up to our elbows in it since they left. Anyway, let’s get to the cuteness.
Knowing that no mom would send their kid to daycare in costume, Noel made each of the kids personalized shirts to wear. Here is Seth showing his off before heading to daycare on Halloween morning.

Seth helps Papa Earl take a break from construction. How many times did he make you read that tractor book, Papa?

Finally it’s time for trick-or-treating. Unfortunately, a fluffy, padded St. Bernard puppy outfit is not very forgiving in the Texas heat. We only made it to 4 houses!

The only house that Seth would walk of his own free will to was our own, where Papa Earl answered the door to his favorite trick-or-treater. Here is Seth post-costume begging Grandma Dodo for some of her ice. He spent the rest of the evening helping mom answer the door in his T-shirt and diaper.

What can we say? Being a bookworm runs in our family!

Team Highlanders showing off their new team shirts. Did I mention that they are an original Weadock design?

We bought Seth a kid’s table this weekend and his current favorite pastime is climbing into the chair and applauding himself. I swear every toy he owns is more fun when he’s sitting at the table.

That’s it for now. Thanks for taking the time to look at the pictures. Please leave us comments!

First Haircut and more!
Though he’s currently down and out with a sore throat, Seth has been having a great first summer. Here are some recent highlights!
We’re not sure how much pudding he actually tasted.

Aunt Nat came for a visit and joined Seth in his new pool sans water.

Everyone is happier now that the car seat is facing forward.

Seth’s hair had gotten past the point of cutely messy. Here are some before shots at the kids salon.

Seth did not enjoy the haircut experience.

It was worth it. He looked so boyish and handsome in the end. I will miss the baby curls though.

Seth poses in a new polo shirt with his new hair cut. He looks so much more like a little boy than a baby these days.

Have a wonderful 4th of July!

An Overdue Mega Pic Update!
It’s been a whirlwind last couple of months for us. And, though we managed to pull out the camera and document the time, we are just now getting a chance to post the pics. Sorry to keep you waiting!
Seth tries out shoes for the first time before heading to Sarah Salsgiver’s 3rd b-day party in the park. Actually, these are Sarah’s hand-me-downs!

Mommy, Daddy and Seth invaded the Schwarz pool over Memorial Day weekend. Seth was a natural in the water and stylin’ with a post-swim do.

Papa Earl and Grandma Dodo put a swing in the big oaks for little Seth.

Our house went through temporary destruction as we pulled up the carpet and treated the concrete to rid it of cat urine prior to new carpet installation. Of course we also had to eliminate the source of the odor, so we said farewell to beloved Polly. She was a good kitty with a bad bladder.

Seth’s increased mobility forced us to finally invest in the entertainment center that keeps electronics out of reach!

Aunt Meg hangs out with her little buddy while mom and dad work around the house.

This is Seth after a few doses of antibiotics for his first ear infection. He’s feeling better!

Please leave us a comment and let us know you’re visiting!

Curse you, Texas weather!!
Just a quick note about Saturday’s hail storm that woke us up at 7am. We had about 10 minutes of up to golf ball sized hail. My truck took some pretty good shots and we got our first official “hail damage” since moving to Texas almost 6 years ago. I guess we were due.
Below is a picture of one of the larger hail stones next to a quarter.

Baby Prep
Just a quick update to show off some pictures of the baby’s bedroom and fancy play garden.
First the bedroom. We actually bought the furniture used about a month ago from a guy on the Texas Fishing Forum. We got a great deal and had tons of fun trying to find this guy’s place out in the boonies. Not much to look at right now, but the room has all the basics. We plan on decorating more once we get a definite answer on the sex.
We also took advantage of the great weather and spruced up the baby’s outdoor play areas. Since the backyard of our new house was pretty barren we added a few trees. Val is standing by for comparison.
While digging the hole for the magnolia tree Sean was excited to find this large chunk of cement! We guess it weighs 100+ pounds and added about 1 hour of extra digging just to remove it.
Finally we added some new flowers to the front of the house in celebration of spring.
It was a busy weekend, but very enjoyable. In the future, we plan on updating the blog each Sunday…so check back for updates often.
Sean & Val
